Trump defenders say this is "fake news". "Trump is clearly aware she is there and is talking about himself and Melania seeing the devastation in person" according to Maarten Schenk's "hoax alert".
I don't know. He could have meant that Melania really wanted to be there - and that is why she was. On the other hand, Melania, instead of wearing her usual hot model/trophy wife clothing, has on a regular shirt, pants and baseball cap. I'm thinking he didn't recognize her.
Dotard Trump truly lives in his own world and only see what he wants to see around him. I guess that does not include Melania.
